Im glad our last time together was happy, but im leaving tonight. Leaving the flock, and this time its for good. I dont know if il see any of you again.
And the thing is Max, everyone is just a little bit right, and added up all together it makes this one big right. Dylans a little bit right about how my being here might be putting the rest of you in danger. The threat might just of been about Dr.
Hans but we don't know that for sure. Angle is a little bit right about how splitting up the flock will help all of us survive. And the rest of the flock is a little bit right about how when you and I are together, were focused on each other. We cant help it. The thing is Maximum, I love you. I cant help but be focused on you, when were together. If your in the room, i want to be next to you. If your gone, I think about you. Your who i wanna talk to.
In a fight, I want you at my back. When were together the sun is shining, and when we are apart, everything is in shades of gray. I hope you will forgive me someday for turning our worlds into shades of gray, At least for a while.
Your not at your best when your focused on me. I mean your at your best Maxness but not your best leaderness. I mostly need Maxness, the flock mostly needs leaderness. And Angle, if your listing to this, it aint you sweety, not yet. At least for a couple more years, the flock needs a leader to survive, no matter how capable everyone thinks he or she is.
The truth is that they do need a leader, and the truth is that you are the best leader. Its one of the things I love about you, but the more I thought about it, the more sure i got that this is the right thing to do. Maybe not for you or for me but for all of us together, our flock.
Please don't try to find me. This is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. And seeing you again, will only make it harder. You would ask me to come back and i would, because i cant say no to you.
Please make us only go through this once. I love you. I love your smile, your snarl, your grin, your face when your sleeping. I love your hair streaming out from behind you as we fly.
With the sunlight making it shine. I love seeing your wings spreading out. White and brown and tanned and speckled, and the tiny downy feathers, right at the top of your shoulders. I love your eyes, whether they are cold of calculating or suspicious or laughing or warm, like when you look at me. You are the best warrior I know, the best leader. Your the most comforting mom we've ever had.
Your the biggest goof ball, the worst driver, and a truly lousy cook. You've kept us safe and provided for us, in good times and bad. Your my best friend, my first and only love, and the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, with wings or without.
Tell you what sweetie, if in 20 years we haven't expired yet, and the world is more or less in one piece, Il meet you at the top of that cliff, where we first met the hawks, and learned to fly with them. You know the one.
Waiting for you. You can bet on it. Goodbye my love, Fang Isnt that sad??? View all 10 comments. Hey fellow Maximum Ride Fans! Just thought you should know that if you look on jamespatterson. And I'm totally with a bunch of these people on the throwing of the book if Fang dies!!!!! I mean, he and max just officially got together and if he kills him off what's Max gonna do!!!! So as I'm sure you know this new bird kid,Dylan, who supposedly is Max's other half!!!
I know totally not cool to Fang!!! So like what!?!?! Fang dies so max switches to this Dylan!!! Come on!!!! I mean read what he wrote on his website!!!! Maximum Ride is used to living desperately on the run from evil forces sabotaging her quest to save the world—but nothing has ever come as close to destroying her as this horrifying prophetic message.
Fang is Max's best friend, her soul mate, her partner in the leadership of her flock of winged children. A life without Fang is a life unimaginable. When a newly created winged boy, the magnificent Dylan, is introduced into the flock, their world is upended yet again. Raised in a lab like the others, Dylan exists for only one reason: he was designed to be Max's perfect other half.
Thus unfolds a battle of perfection versus passion that terrifies, twists, and turns Mar 16, Victoria Loves Books rated it did not like it. This was probably the worst book out of the series.
Angel is unstable, Max and Fang leave the Flock for a short while, Dylan comes into the picture and tries to get Max to himself which he failed at , Angel sides with a mad scientist and becomes evil, Fang dies and comes back to life after he had been dead too long, and Fang leaves. Everyone was out of character, especially Angel who has somehow morphed from an adorable six year old who tells Max that "she's her favorite too" into an outrageous and evil seven year old without reason.
Fang was never a distraction to Max, he always helped her and supported her, keeping her even MORE focused. Nudge barely talked, Iggy and Gazzy barely made any bombs, it was like a horrible FanFiction where they forget everyone besides Max and Fang. Not to mention that Iggy, Nudge, and Gazzy would never vote for Max to leave. Let's not forget that James Patterson is leaving many things at dead ends. Gazzy has more abilities than being gassy, as most people have probably forgotten, because JP has not mentioned Gazzy's voice mimicking ability since about the second book.
Whatever happened to Nudge's ability to attract metal? That doesn't matter; only her hacking ability does, because it can help fix plot holes about finding information. Iggy can see colors, not that anyone would ever spare it a single thought since we found out in the Final Warning. Max, Fang, and Angel have gills. Yet why on earth would they matter at all except to save the day and let the flock live happily ever after.
Wouldn't the rest of the flock still be curious why they weren't developing gills? Furthermore, Angel has mentioned that she has a voice. That is something huge. That deserves more thought and consideration by everyone in the flock, this big of an event is not something you just ignore. A normal acting Angel would have told someone by now, or at least have been a little worried about it. With all of this going on, it seems like we have an Angel 2 instead of a regular Angel.

Alright, about this book There's no specific word to describe it, really.
I thought it to be a HUGE letdown and, quite frankly, a waste of my time. I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books of the Maximum Ride Series, but, with The Final Warning and the books following, it has continued to go farther and farther downhill.
Breaking it down into element: Negative Elements: The Plot - I thought it was hastily strewn together and lacking substance.
It was just bad, and the romance didn't help it at Alright, about this book It was just bad, and the romance didn't help it at all. First off, the 'romance' between Max and Fang was incredibly awkward and unrealistic. Talk about an unhealthy relationship. Max and Fang's 'love' consisted of licking the back of each other's throats and extreme codependency.
Max was a bubbling mess when Fang wasn't around to swap spit with; any independence she had in the first books is now gone. Okay, so they're madly in love, and I can see where you become more depend on the one you love. However, when the dependency is taken to levels such as these, you know there's a problem. Anyways, back to the actual plot. The villain lacked evilness and explanation. There really was no reason to hate him, unless you think the last conflict is a reason.
I can't go into too many details, but it was an accident and he even seemed sorry. The lack of explanations really got to me in this one. Things happened that I still don't understand. The fights were pretty much meaningless and random.
And, I could go on and on, but I think it's time to move on! It was like she was a whole different person. Fully equipped with a parade of boys willing to do anything for her, a serious lack of flaws, and her extreme dependency which you could count as a fault, but it's not portrayed in the book as so , Patterson has produced a full fledged Mary Sue.
Angel - What was with her? The author never explained her actions or thoughts. She was just scary, and her part in the book left me rather confused. The Flock - This book didn't focus on the flock. It focused on Max and Fang's love life. There was no heart racing adventure in which the flock teamed together and used their trust and love in each other to defeat the bad guy.
I felt like you barely got to see any of them in this book, and the few parts you did see of them scared you. They aren't even the same people anymore. They may have sported elements I didn't like, but I still broke out laughing at least once a chapter. I didn't laugh once while reading this book.
There was no funny comebacks or ironic situations. It was just However, I split my sides as I read the second epilogue. That one chapter captured the original atmosphere of the first couple books. This book was just angry and sexually provoked. Knowing he'd put the others in danger, he left them all, promising Max that he'll "meet her in 20 years at the cliff where they met the hawks, if they haven't "expired".

The groups meet at a hotel restaurant, where the members vie for dominance and brag about their powers. The groups get into a food fight and are nearly arrested, Dylan defuses the situation by singing. Later, when both groups are on a plane, Gazzy mentions that Dylan was made to be Max's mate, which infuriates Fang.
He and Max argue again, only for Angel to calm them down. Fang and Max awkwardly agree to work together to search for the Doomsday Group. In Paris, despite being quiet and used to blending in, Fang has to put on a show and attract passerby while the members of his group perform stunts near the Louvre, to attract the Doomsday Group's attention.
They save numerous people from the Doomsday Group's attack, but Angel goes missing, and the groups split up again. Early on, a teacher reveals to Dylan that the whitecoats want Fang. Meanwhile, Fang's Gang is attacked by Erasers. Star and Kate turn out to be traitors, and Maya dies in Fang's arms. Heartbroken, he tells Ratchet and Holden to go home.
Fang is now on his own with an injured wing, unable to fly. However, a blog commenter alerts him to the fact that Angel may be alive. While sitting in a graveyard, he hears the Voice telling him to go to Max. When he returns to the Flock, Max says that he has grown into a man since she last saw him. They rescue Angel, but Jeb shows up with an army of Erasers. He explains that whitecoats are after Fang because he has the immortality gene, and Fang must die.
They defeat the Erasers, but Dylan - maddened by the fact that Fang and Max have reconciled - almost kills Fang. Fang spends most of the plane ride to Paradise recuperating. Once there, he's given Dylan's treehouse, as Dr. Martinez explains to Max that he wasn't "expected.
When they learn that the world is in danger, Fang says he and Max will face their fate together, and prepares to accompany her back to the mainland to try to help the humans. However, the Apocalypse knocks them both out of the sky and breaks Max's wing. Fang stays with her, declaring his love and kissing her as a tsunami closes in on them. Max awakens to Fang calling her name.
They are among the few left on the surface of the island. As they adjust to the world's new state, Fang makes plans to assess the damage and rebuild the treehouse village. Angel shows Fang her vision of his death, and after a night with Max, he leaves the Flock to go to California. He finds Dylan being attacked by Horsemen and tries to help, but it turns out to be a trap.
As Jeb looks on, the Erasers rip one of Fang's wings off and kill him. However, Dylan recovers the body and puts it in stasis deep within Himmel. He replaces the destroyed wing with a bionic one and prepares it to be brought back to life, but waits until after they've defeated the Remedy to ask Max's opinion.
Max says she wants Fang back alive and tells Dylan that she's pregnant with Fang's child. In response, Dylan brings Fang back to life, dying in the process. Fang recovers from losing several months of his life. In the underground bunker, he and Max welcome their newborn daughter Phoenix. As the book ends, they emerge from the bunker after a four-year nuclear winter.
